DESCRIPTION: This product is a Deer Food Plot Seed Mix designed to help you attract and nourish deer on your land.
- Premium bottomland food plot seed blend
- Tolerates low pH soil conditions
- Withstands wet and moisture-prone environments
- Highly palatable forage deer love
- High-protein blend to support herd health and antler development
- Provides season-long forage production
- Blend includes Wheat, Forage Oats, Balansa Clover, Balady Clover, Appin Turnip, and Rye
- Ideal for hunting properties and wildlife management programs
- Treated with Delta Ag Seed Coat for enhanced emergence and stand establishment
Southern Buck Buck Magnet is commonly used to establish fall food plots for deer and turkey, helping provide forage during dormant seasons and improving wildlife activity on hunting properties.
PREPARATION TIMELINE:
March – May (Spring Preparation)
- Obtain a soil test and apply lime according to test results
- Early lime application is critical, as it takes time to adjust soil pH
- During spring, you can also plant:
Mid-September – October (Fall Planting)
- Prepare and smooth the seedbed before planting
- Apply fertilizer based on soil test recommendations
If no soil test is available:
- Apply 200–300 lbs/acre of 13-13-13 fertilizer
- Continue fertilizing as needed throughout the growing season
PLANTING:
- Plant at a rate of 30–50 lbs per ½ acre
- Drill or broadcast evenly across the soil surface
- Plant at a depth of ¼” to ½”
- (Do not plant small seeds deeper than ¼”)
- Use a light drag, cultipacker, or log to firm the soil after planting
